Overview
Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically positioned wildlife area, endowed with a huge but shallow soda lake covering almost two third of the entire park, this park is placed at he base of the Great Rift Valley on its western escarpment. The park offer variety of habitat which attracts many animal species including largest herd of elephant, famous Lake Manyara tree climbing lions as well as large and colorful flocks of flamingos attracted by high concentration of algae.
Morning Departure & Visit to Mto wa Mbu
After breakfast, you’ll depart from Arusha and begin the scenic 2-hour drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass through the lively market town of Mto wa Mbu, a cultural melting pot known for its fresh produce, local crafts, and vibrant atmosphere. A brief stop at the village market offers a chance to experience local life and perhaps pick up a unique souvenir.
Game Drive &
Bird Watching in Lake Manyara
Upon entering the park, your game drive begins through diverse landscapes ranging from groundwater forests to open grasslands. Lake Manyara is renowned for its tree-climbing lions, which may be seen lounging in acacia trees, and its rich wildlife including elephants, baboons, giraffes, and more. For bird enthusiasts, the park is a haven, with sights of flamingo flocks, raptors, and the vibrant lilac-breasted roller making every moment a photographer’s dream.
Optional Canoeing & Return to Arusha
If conditions permit, you may have the chance to experience a guided canoe safari on Lake Manyara, offering a peaceful perspective of the park from the water. After a full day of exploration and wildlife encounters, you’ll return to Arusha in the late afternoon, wrapping up a memorable adventure in one of Tanzania’s most picturesque parks.
Discounts policy
This is a private trip and hence the group will only consist of the people you chose to travel with. For children the following discounts apply: 1 child under 5 years 100 % (further children under 5 years 50 %), 5-12 years 50%. Children with a 100% discount are not included in the total number of travelers. The stated children’s discounts are limited to 2 children per private trip. If more children (up to and including 12 years) travel with the group, we are gladly prepared to make you an individual offer.
